City planning reference

New Orleans neighborhood planning areas.

This page uses the City of New Orleans Neighborhood Statistical Area dataset as a master inventory for neighborhood research. The City explains that these areas were created for planning and decision-making; they are not a substitute for property-specific zoning, historic-district, flood, insurance, or legal research.

How to use the planning-area directory

This directory is a research index for the City of New Orleans planning-area labels represented in the current source dataset. It helps visitors find a relevant JS Modern guide; it does not establish a legal boundary, subdivision line, zoning district, school attendance area, or guarantee that every source uses the same name.

Use a guide as the beginning of the conversation, then verify the exact property address through Jonathan’s buyer or seller resources, the Property Viewer, and the applicable CZO. For a particular property, documents and qualified professionals remain more authoritative than a general neighborhood label.
